Photo Loco ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

Information We Collect

Account information — when you create an account, we collect your email address, username, and display name.

Profile information — optionally, you may provide a profile photo and social media links (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, website).

Location data — when you add a spot, we record the GPS coordinates you provide. We request access to your device location to show nearby spots and calculate distances. We do not store your real-time location or track your movements.

Content you submit — location names, descriptions, tags, and photos you upload become part of the Photo Loco community database.

Usage data — we collect basic usage information such as spots saved and spots submitted. We do not use third-party analytics services.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide and operate the Photo Loco app and website
• To display your profile and submissions to other users
• To send account-related emails (confirmation, password reset)
• To improve the app based on usage patterns
• To enforce our Terms of Service and community standards

We do not sell your personal data. We do not serve advertising. We do not share your data with third parties except as described below.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Photo Loco:

• Supabase — database and authentication. Your account data and location submissions are stored on Supabase infrastructure. Supabase Privacy Policy
• Google Maps — map rendering within the app. Subject to Google's privacy policy.
• Cloudflare — web hosting for photoloco.app. Subject to Cloudflare's privacy policy.
• Expo / EAS — app build and distribution infrastructure.

Public Content

Locations you submit as public are visible to all users of Photo Loco, including unauthenticated visitors. Your username is displayed alongside locations you submit.

Locations you mark as private are only visible to you when signed in.

Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal information will be removed. Public location submissions may remain on the platform attributed anonymously unless you request their removal.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and personal data
• Export your data

Children's Privacy

Photo Loco is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via the app or email. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
